Usb booting

Hey hello to everyone.Can anyone please help me.I wan't help regarding usb booting i am using intel p4 845 motherboard and i wan't to know does it support's booting .i have tried many methods to boot but nothing happens.when i make a usb bootable pendrive and restarts PC nothing boots and my OS starts.actually i am using external usb of via

my motherboards internal usb don't work.can anyone help regarding this matter.
