BIOS->MBR->Active Partition bootsector->NTLDR->BOOT.INI->NTDETECT.COM->Kernel files and drivers

What files and in which order are loaded after NTDETECT.COM starts you can see by adding the /BOOTLOG switch to BOOT.INI entry:

/BOOTLOG

Causes Windows to write a log of the boot to the file %SystemRoot%\Ntbtlog.txt.
