new Vista machine 32bit

we were getting a lot of stop errors typically related to memory such as 8E, BE, D1, 1A

memory testing passed without reporting problems

anyway, I swapped out the 4gb (2X2gb) with new sticks

stop erros continue, mostly the stop 1A

minidmp on 0xBEstop code showed

process name svchost

probably caused by memory corruption (nt!MiRemoveStandyPage+6F)

attempted_to-write_to_readonly_memory

how best to proceed?

driver verifier?

Graphics card?

accrding to those instructions, I assume you would need a memory dump, when i pressed right ctrl + ScrLk nothing happened and no memory.dump was created. I had set the dump for kernel.

would a mini dump file help?

You would only need to use the keyboard to dump the machine if it wasn't crashing. Since it is, simply set it to complete memory dump as per the instructions, reboot, and wait for it to crash again. When it does, you'll have the .dmp file we need of the crash.
