topdraft Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Hi AllI am new to this forum and very new at building computers. I have hit a problem for which I need help. Firstly I would like to say what the rig looks like (this usually helps): “Lian Li” aluminium PC case. The power supply is a “OCZ” Game X Stream 700W. The Motherboard is a “Gigabyte” S-series GA-E&AUM-DS2H (rev 1.0). The processor is an “Intel” Core 2 Quad Q9650 775 3.0GHz 12MB-cache (1333FSB). The memory is OCZ 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel . I have fitted two Maxtor 500GB hard drives and two “Samsung” DVD writers. The motherboard has a cluster of 5 SATA2 connectors I have used “SATA-0” for the master and -1 for the slave HD’s. The PC case SATA2 plug went into -2 and the first DVD writer from which I hope to boot , went into -3 and the remaining writer into -4. All the power cables and wiring have been installed correctly and the rig boots up. I have set the BIOS to boot up from CD rom. The Operating System is from my offices licensed software IE: “Microsoft” Windows XP professional with service pack 2 September 2004 Systems Windows Client: Business. With all that the OS refuses to boot up giving me a message: No Emulation System Type- 00 and that’s as far as I get...... please help, someone.Regards
jaclaz Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 It seems like a problem with the actual CD booting. Are the DVD's ATA or SATA?If SATA double check BIOS settings:http://www.computing.net/answers/hardware/...rive/51227.htmlYou may also want to try disconnecting (temporarily) one of the two DVD's.jaclaz
