Office Live query

Sorry if my first post is in the wrong place/wrong format but here goes!

I am fed up with the "get started with office live" pop up appearing whenever I open Word or Excel (2007 versions). Ticking the "do not show me this message again" box makes no difference. How do I get rid of this irritant.

Hello and welcome to THE forums! Go to Start ---> Control Panel ---> Programs and Features and uninstall "Microsoft Office Live Add-in 1.3".

Try This: for excel

1) Copy your *.BQY folders into a test folder

2) Rename the file extensions from *.BQY to *.WQY

3) Using the Import Wizard, import these *.WQY files into XI

4) Using Live Office, reinsert the queries into Excel

Hi, I too have the annoying Office Live pop up. I do not have a "Programs and Features" to select in my Control Panel, or anything that sounds like that. I am using Windows XP. I'll keep poking around for a solution, but if somone knows, I'd appreciate a note. Thanks.

Under XP it's add/remove programs. You can get there directly by running appwiz.cpl in the Run box under the Start menu.

Oh, thank you! I did find it in there, and I assume deleting it will mean one can't use Office Live . . . I haven't used that program, but not sure I won't ever want to. Is there a way to just stop getting the pop-up but not deleting Office Live?

Try this to remove the popups only. Copy/paste to a text file and save as NoLivePopups.reg. Then import it.
