sweet. this will work out great for the PC repair market, cant wait till the 'average user' start uninstalling the browser to try to purge their 37 toolbars and spyware infections only to find they cant reinstall it because they never have their install media and OEM PCs have only gotten less reliable about leaving the cd contents on the drive...

although this means my pen drive will likely need the 7MB installer for firefox for when IE8 is installed and not working and the 70MB installer for IE8 when its not installed

and id say its confirmed

This has been a part of the Set Programs and Defaults since XP SP1. It doesn't remove it, it just removes the icons and shell handlers from the UI, like it always has.
