pure-ftpp on centos 5 dont start..

Hi, first i'm sorry for may bad englis, so i have 2 questions

first - i have buy a dedicate server with centos 5 and after instal apache, phpmyadmin and pure-ftp, i make acounts but the pure-ftpd service not want start, after put

/etc/init.d/pure-ftpd start

i get

[failed]

and if i put service pure-ftpd status i see this is stoped.

i know the peaple her like more windows and me to lol is the first time i use centos but maybe anyone can help me
