I have found and downloaded the 48-bit LBA patch on your forum.

Have yet to test it - but I am hopeful.

Thanks esp. to LLXX for coding the patch and to MDGx for explanations.

Using Windows 98 SE on this box.

Have Windows XP on another and a Windows 7 boot drive there too.

It was a free download - had to give it a try.

It (Windows 7) works pretty good even on vintage '03 hardware!
