SDreamer Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Hi, I just found out how Vista's firewall can block outbound traffic as well. I started it up, and got it blocking. I have added a buncha rules, but I was wondering if there was some general list of exceptions to allow that deal with system applications. I had a hard time figuring out how to allow my wireless printer, and windows update. Now I'm having trouble allowing Remote Assistance. I've already allowed msra.exe, but I'm still having a bit of trouble. I've already configured port 3389 TCP/UDP to go through as well as two separate outbound rules. What do I have to allow for Remote Assistance to work? Is it a service or something? Is there some software I can use to monitor what's being blocked? I tried Vista Firewall Control, but apparently that's just another firewall that uses the same stuff Vista Firewall uses, and it didn't really help me. thanks for any help.
Tripredacus Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Do you really mean "Remote Assistance" and not "Remote Desktop?"
