How do you stop outlook from trying to access exchange?

I was messing around with outlook 2003 and it's set to be used for an exchange server which I do not have so the first thing that happens after opening outlook is it asks me for the server/username information and if it's incorrect or not provided it just closes outlook and I can't figure out how to get into any options to change this. Can anyone help?

Sorry, don't have 2003 installed so going from memory now.

Select option to edit existing mail account.

Select the Exchange or MAPI account

I have never seen a configured outlook client that did not put a mail control panel in, but try this first.

start -> run type: control mlcfg32.cpl

click OK

follow previous instructions if control panel opens.

Otherwise, launch regedit.

go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook

Make a backup of this key and it subkeys and contents.

now delete the key.

try relaunching outlook.
