tal ormanda Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Ok I got this old computer for $75 and it came with a DVD drive. The front of it says "DVD Multi Player" However in XP it only shows to read CD's. The computer came from the state and they reinstalled the OS on it. So what can I do to get this to read some DVD's?

puntoMX Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Seems like a half dead unit to me, it uses 2 lasers so the one used to read the DVD must be dead/bad.You can´t access a DVD at all or it´s just not reproducing video in media player?

DigeratiPrime Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Maybe it just doesnt recognize the media code of that particular dvd. The drive is not a burner, only a reader. Have you tried different dvds? And make sure they are in good condition.
