I'm trying to get this to work and I'm having some issues. Here are the steps that I'm doing...

1. Formatting a 1gig Crucial USB drive using the HP tool from inside winSetupFromUSB

2. Load the source and select the disk and hit go.

4. Boot up and select the first boot

3 When I do this I get the following error after I boot up:

"Windows Could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem. Could not read for the selected boot disk"

Is this because I recently deleted all the partitions using a linux boot disk? Do I need to recreate a fat partition?

UPDATE

I am not back to getting the hal.dll after formating the partition as NTFS. I will try what is suggested in other form posts.

I found this:

"Does partition number as shown on partition screen at Text mode match partition(X) in BOOT.INI?"

How do I get to the partition screen at the textmode?

Do I have to restart each time It gets through a stage?

I believe I have it fixed!
