clark544 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) I'm trying to get this to work and I'm having some issues. Here are the steps that I'm doing...1. Formatting a 1gig Crucial USB drive using the HP tool from inside winSetupFromUSB2. Load the source and select the disk and hit go.4. Boot up and select the first boot3 When I do this I get the following error after I boot up:"Windows Could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem. Could not read for the selected boot disk"Is this because I recently deleted all the partitions using a linux boot disk? Do I need to recreate a fat partition?UPDATEI am not back to getting the hal.dll after formating the partition as NTFS. I will try what is suggested in other form posts.I found this:"Does partition number as shown on partition screen at Text mode match partition(X) in BOOT.INI?"How do I get to the partition screen at the textmode?Do I have to restart each time It gets through a stage?I believe I have it fixed!
