i'm new to the forum so i'm not sure if i posted this in the right area. i hope so.

ok so here we go. i'm trying to make my comp look more like a mac and i got a shell32.dll with a leopard osx feel. but i'm not an administrator and i can't change the dll. moreover, i don't want to change it for the whole comp since this is a shared comp and evry1 else hates mac. so is there any program or any plugin or anything that i could use to make the dll for me only??? so i just want to use it, and if i go into documents and settings and into mine, i can't find any personal shell32.dll that's just for me. please help.

To put it bluntly, NO.

SHELL32.DLL is a "base" system file and is common to ALL USERS on the same install.

The only thing you could do is to boot in another OS, temporary change shell32.dll to "your" version, boot XP with your account, then at shutdown re-re-boot on the other OS, and change it back to the original, something that is likely to produce before or late some problems and, if you are not Admin on the PC, the actuall Admin won't let you do if he is in his right mind.

If the PC is newish/powerful enough, you could see if it's allowed to run another instance of Xp in a Virtual Machine.
