ptracer Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Hello, can someone just confirm to me that on the client side if I leave the primary dns suffix empty, once the client joins the domain would it suppose to get the dns suffix automatically. My problem is that I am not getting nothing and when I try to ping the server by name it fails because there is no dns suffix to append. I am logging to a Win 2008 serv with a admin user account. Why do you think I am not receiving the dns suffix from the server?
Tripredacus Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Verify that you have specified that the server send along a DNS suffix in your DHCP settings. If you leave this option blank or disable it, it will not pass that along.
