joe43wv Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I'm working on a pc that was infected with viruses and spyware. When it was brought to me it was able to ping out to the internet but wasn't able to actually connect to a website. I got it all cleaned up, but now when it loads a website it won't show any pics, you have to right click on the pic and tell it to show pictures before any pics will load. Is there anyway of fixing this? I was considering reinstalling the OS using the repair feature but if there's a simpler fix I'll go that route. Any thoughts?
cluberti Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 There's a setting called "Show Pictures" in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Multimedia - if not checked, this is the behavior you'll see.
Sysdll Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 If Cluberti’s suggestion doesn’t work try downloading and reinstalling IE 7.
Redhatcc Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 i have a computer like this now... has a virus but nothing obvious like malware or what not... but every time i change it to show pic's, log out, relog back to that account, it is changed back again. ran hijackthis and didnt help, tried installing avg/malwarebytes/and a few others but wouldnt let me because had so many missing files...firefox worked and it was running ie6, upgrading/reinstalling to ie7 or just using firefox probably would do the trick
