George27 Posted January 3, 2009 Share Posted January 3, 2009 I was doimg a search on how to install a sata optical drive and really didn't find much. What do you do to install one? It's not like ide where there's a master/slave. Do you plug in the optical drive in the sata 1 slot for the primary boot and hd in the second slot? Or does it matter. Thanks in advance. ripken204 Posted January 3, 2009 Share Posted January 3, 2009 you just plug it in.you can only connect one device to one cable so there is no need for master/slave, that is a thing of the past.you can set up your primary/secondary boot devices right in the bios so it doesn't matter which slot you choose.
