nlite last version problem

hi,

i have downloaded the last version of nlite and when i sleepstream my cd with sp3 i select this options autoamtic instalation and create iso.

Then it ask for the key of xp, and i insert it , on user account tab i can't uncheck the administrator account (because if i do it says that i can't login) , then create the iso.

When installing in the final step before the instalation is completed, the xp instalation asks for a user name( have to put the frist , but can put more. And it will create an account with the name that i have inserted and the cd created with nlite also creates other account, why nlite have to create an account , if the instalation of xp creates one? And i cant delete one of them!

Please post your last_session.ini.

here:

[users]

Administrador|Admin||True|Administradores||False|True|True

Convidado|||False|Convidados||True|False|False

it it creates 1 account for administrador automatically from the orders given by the cd and xp instalation ask to create one also, so i have 2 account administrador and why is administrador|Admin?

how to do not create any user, just when xp instalation of xp asks for do it just cleae [users] lines? or also clean [users] and his lines?

Hugo_Luiten, thanks, but I see no problems here. When the LastSession is large, please attach it (see Browse... and UPLOAD buttons), not paste it. I really don't understand what your problems are. The Administrator and Guest accounts are created by Windows and can't be removed. It is not a good idea to run under the Administrator account, so you need at least one account defined. I suggest letting nLite create this for you. It can have administrator privileges as you wish. Please let us know if more help is needed. Enjoy, John.

but it creates 2 admin accounts , when i go to user account on control panel it says, this account is visible only when run on safe mode , but i can see both account , in normal running, because windows asks in the instalation , windows will create and account called administrador(required) type the pass bellow , so it creates an account , after the install after turn in windows updates it asks again for a name!!(required) ANd creates the second account , i just want one account.

Hugo_Luiten, OK, now I understand. I have created many ISOs and never had this problem. I don't know what is going on, but I suspect you have run nLite more than once against the same source. You should always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. I have not used Prompt repair, I use Fully automated. Why are you using it? Enjoy, John.

yes i have used my xp with sp2 (that i have spleestramed with nlite) and now i spleepstramed it again but with sp3, probably is my error , how can i start with a clean copy just delete the ini files except autorun?

Because i think , in other modes you dont have the option on the installation to repair your actual instalation ....

Hugo_Luiten, just copy all the files from your CD. I keep a folder with the original CD files in it and then copy them to my working folder when I want to make an ISO. You only need to add SP3, no matter what level your original CD is, never two SPs. It is true you don't get the Repair option with any other Unattended option. I decided I would make one CD with the repair option in case I had a problem. I have used Repair option only once (changed main board, CPU, memory). I could have used my running system to nLite a new CD (did not know about nLite - years ago). I have used System Restore several times to recover from problems but not Repair. Enjoy, John.

i have deleted the ini files and nlite knows my key and options that i have selcted before, how where i can delete it?

This is always been the normal way of installing Windows XP. You have ONE account that is named "Administrator" and one that's created during "Out Of the Box Experience". That one is part of the Administrators group but is not a "2nd Administrator account". You always have two accounts from start unless you "skip OOBE". You can even remove OOBE in the case your XP is preactivated or if no activation is required.

So what is the actual problem ? Do you get a Welcome Screen with 2 users ?

Hugo_Luiten, you MUST start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. NLite knows stuff from the .ini files in the C:\Program Files\nLite\Presets folder. You can select a different .ini file or just change the various options - will be saved at the end on running nLite. I think the LastSession.ini files in your source folder are just for reference and not used unless you specifically request it via the Import button on the Presets page. Enjoy, John.

Manually check if ur cd-key works in ur windows installation version, that might b why it asks u 4 the key while installing.

And No, u cant remove the Administrator or Guest account in nLite, but u can change the name etc of Administrator. U always need an Admin account in ur windows, no matter the name.

U can manually delete the Guest account in Administrative Tools after the installation.
