mrQQ Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Hello, with all the different slipstreaming/integration tools available, what would be an easiest way to take a SP3 XP CD, and integrate all the post-SP3 updates into it? I was thinking about RyanVM pack, but it seems to be out of date already..Thanks for any clues.
Yzöwl Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I'm not being deliberately rude but there is no answer to such a generic question, some of us have been doing this for years and still couldn't tell you. You need to read the Unattended Guide, then work through it, then change things bit by bit etc.It will take you a considerable amount of time to have something with which you are reasonably satisfied.
mrQQ Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 (edited) But thing is, I don't want unattended setup.Nor I want to integrate any additional software whatsoever. All I want is a setup, where all the updates till that day would be integrated.I was thinking, surely, there must be some tools and collections to do that, instead of manually collecting all the updates..?===== Post Nº 2 =====I've just read the link you provided. I think it should answer most of my questions. Sorry for.. useless thread Edited November 19, 2008 by Yzöwl In sequence posts appended
mrQQ Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 I've read it now.Frankly, I'm still confused.First of all, all the methods of getting the latest hotfixes are either very manual, or outdated (the thread on msfn, the ryanvm pack, the updates downloader list..). And second, I'm still not sure which method is correct way to *integrate* the updates (so that they replace the files, instead of being run after setup..)
Geej Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 How about trying out HFSlip?XP hotfix for hfslipIt doesn't have to be unattended. Can be user-attended.Regards
