Wonderwrench
First I'm new to vLite and find the instructions hard to understand. I slip streamed sp1 into Vista x64 all versions but the Wim image is to large. When I try to make an image I'm told"WIM image size is larger than 4GB, this ISO might not work.Try Apply - 2nd method (Rebuild) if you have used Apply - 1st method before."This makes no sense to me. How do you shrink the image? Apply is always grayed out and I see no option to rebuild the image. Did I screw up some where? I see several posts that talk about using the apply button to shrink (rebuild) the image but not how you go about getting the apply button to be anything but grayed out. I did not use the apply button after each version as I want a complete dvd with all versions. Or was I supposed to use the apply button on each version? I hope I do not have to start from scratch.Any help greatly appreciatedBill

Wonderwrench
see my post herehttp://www.msfn.org/board/Size-vLite-s-ISO-t125669.htmlI see what you are saying. My ISO is 4.55 GB (4,895,932,416 bytes) and is to large to fit a single layer DVD. I'm unsure if any internal files are to large. The apply rebuild thing still has me questioning whats going on. The apply (rebuild) is only used to rebuild after removing components correct? So it looks to me there is no way to make all version sp1 DVD using Vista x64. I'll just have to settle for a one version DVD I would guess. It seems funny that sp1 would be so much larger than RTM. Did MS go to a dual layer DVD for sp1 or is the slipstream leaving unneeded junk around? I'd try burning to a dual layer DVD if I had one.
Wonderwrench
Well making ultimate only is a no go also as the image is still over 4 gigs though it should fit on a single layer DVD.I was wondering why the tutorial is for x86 only. I did more searching on this forums and it would seem several people have had similar experiences. The trouble is no one has ever given much in the line of useful answers. I'd say vLite does not support slipstreaming Vista x64.
spacesurfer
the msdn version of vista with sp1 is about 6 gb. it contains all version x86 and x64. so, one can assume that the wim images are optimized as compared to the one you're making on your own. and yes, 6 gb = dual layer. testervp
MSDN Vista SP1 that contain 5 version of Vista x86 for only 2.8GB.. And x64 5 versions only 3.7GBhttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-au/subscripti...aspx?pm=pid:146Look for "Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 (x64) - DVD (English)" on the botton. That is the legit one and officially intergrated SP1 done by Microsoft. I guess is worth it to join MSDN for the quality stuffs then.- Revised - Edited November 15, 2008 by testervp

KillerBug
To save about 500mb on a slipstreamed SP1 Vista All-In-One disc:1.) Slipstream SP1 with all versions of vista available2.) Go to the hotfixes menu; don't integrate any.3.) Click Apply & rebuild all....Still over 4GB, but with a 8gb flash drive that does not matter.
