first, sorry for my bad english!

To make a short story, i did make a Vlite installation from a DELL vista DVD.. the vlite dvd work on my desktop computer but not on my gateway laptop with his ACHI SATA hard disk

if i'm using the DELL DVD, the installation on my laptop work with no problem

if i'm using the Vlite DVD, the installation stay forever (2hour ) at the last step of the installation ( the last step called "end of the installation" or something like that, my dvd is in french)

If i load the sata ACHI driver from gateway before installing vista, the installation will proceed but at the first reboot, i got a blue screen...

I really don't understand why the retail dvd work and not the vlite one?? since its basically the same thing???

DELL DVD

This is your issue. It is not a standard DVD of Vista. It has been pre-modified and heavily crap-ified by Dell. Since Dell has made all sorts of changes to the DVD already (Adding programs and the DVD is most likely of 1 version of Vista only, when "normal" Vista DVD's contain ALL versions of Vista.) vLite cannot properly proccess it.

P.S. A "dell" DVD is an OEM disk NOT retail. Technically the OEM license forbids the use of it on any other type of system then the one it came with.

You MIGHT have chosen the wrong drivers which is very easy todo.
