  1. ok, i did try it again with a real retail vista dvd and now it work fine... I just find it weird that the Dell vista dvd would work but not the dell vlite version..
  2. i did make a second dvd with less options removed and it doens the same thing i'll try with a retail DVd
  3. This is your issue. It is not a standard DVD of Vista. It has been pre-modified and heavily crap-ified by Dell. Since Dell has made all sorts of changes to the DVD already (Adding programs and the DVD is most likely of 1 version of Vista only, when "normal" Vista DVD's contain ALL versions of Vista.) Well, its The BUsinness version of vista... But did you read the fact that the DELL DVd work on my laptop ??? its just the vlite who doesnt work and its only on my laptop.. On my desktop computer its ok.. I did try on a old HP nc8000 laptop with IDE hardrive and it work too it something related to the Sata
  4. first, sorry for my bad english! To make a short story, i did make a Vlite installation from a DELL vista DVD.. the vlite dvd work on my desktop computer but not on my gateway laptop with his ACHI SATA hard disk if i'm using the DELL DVD, the installation on my laptop work with no problem if i'm using the Vlite DVD, the installation stay forever (2hour ) at the last step of the installation ( the last step called "end of the installation" or something like that, my dvd is in french) If i load the sata ACHI driver from gateway before installing vista, the installation will proceed but at the first reboot, i got a blue screen... I really don't understand why the retail dvd work and not the vlite one?? since its basically the same thing???
  5. it is from vista or XP?? you don't have the same option on XP with diskpart
  6. HI My Vlite installation just crash after the installation. I got a blue screen.. It seems to be related to the SATA drive. But i did load my driver just before installation.. I tried to reinstall my retail Vista installation and it work!! so? i'm wondering what component i did remove i shouldn'T?? sorry for my bad english
  7. hI!! i did create my bootable DVD with vlite. No trouble at all.. But i boot on the DVD and after the screen where they ask me the choose the language and keyboard setting, i got the message @no image found@ So, i can<t install the vista lite
