electrosam
Hi. I have a USB HDD. Many times when I select Safely Remove Hardware it gives error message as - Title- Problem Ejecting USB Mass Storage Device- Windows Can't stop your "Generic Volume" device because it is in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using this device , and then try again later. while no one program/file on HDD is being accessed. So what to do in this situation ? Because removing directly may corrupt file system. Please help.
Access Denied
You don't have a page file on there do ya? Sorry if this question seems stupid. Just figured I'd ask. Also, you haven't put the system variables on there have ya? I did this with mine for a time when I had only 1 drive in my pc.
FishBowl
Do you have any index service running?Explorer may bring one, MS Office another one. Even WMP could act similar, if allowed to search for media files everywhere.Or by chance installed Norton Protection, for the 'Recycled' folder(s)?No idea, if that's already available for Vista. If so, disable for that drive, once attached.
