RYU81 Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 my friend need some help:I'm looking for either some type of software or technology to allow me to keep track of a task list, and have the following requirements in order from most to least important:1) Version control/history OR automatic backups at regular intervals.2) Accessible from any computer (i.e. it's on a server connected to the Internet -- I have my own server I can work with if needed)3) Can store a cached version on my local machine automatically every time I access the list. This way, if I have no Internet connectivity for some reason, I can at least read the list.I've tried a few different setups, but none of them have been able to fulfill all of the requirements. Do you geniuses have a solution for me?
DigeratiPrime Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I having trouble understanding what exactly you are looking for. What about something like 'Remember the Milk'?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remember_The_Milkhttp://www.rememberthemilk.com/Or revision control software like CVS?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of...ontrol_software
RYU81 Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 (edited) Milk seems to work fine for me. I really don't need to track every single change, I mainly only wanted to keep a history of completed tasks, which this does. Also, now that I know to visit https://rememberthemilk.com/offline/, my Google Gears install works properly in showing me all of my tasks even when not connected to the Internet.I had considered CVS, but it's too large of an implementation, and not directly suited for my needs. Thanks for the suggestions though. Edited September 25, 2008 by RYU81
