zipzap Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Just having a look comparing the difference between Nlite and XPlite and noted that XPlite from what I gather is used after a full installation of Win Xp using original disc 650 megs approx and the edited and unwanted files to a folder which I gather can be deleted or reinstalled again as required.Wheras Nlite gets pre edited before hand and then installed which makes nice speedy installation with say approx 300 - 400 megs on custom disc. Which brings me down to a question is it possible to save all unused items in Nlite to another folder on preinstall CD which could be installed if needed or possibly installed with Nlite and items required could then be reinstalled from the seperate saved folder. Is this feasable.? Then a custom CD could be made out of installed System minus the unused items after being found what you need after using after a period of time. Obviously the installation CD would be larger but once the unused items were removed you would have far less unwanted junk slowing things down.Is this idea possible feasable and worth considering. Then when someone removed a required file that was needed later on it could be reinstalled as required.Maybe one of the experts would shed some light on this.
