r0b0tc0rpse
after 5 days of trying to create a Vlite install... all sorts of woes.It seems that ... some times, the disk i create works... and i think.. great, it works, let me add one more KB or somethingthen mysteriously, it doesn't work... goes right back into its loop thing... I thought it was my service presets, so i left them all default. But that I integrated all hot fixes that were available today. So either the services messed up the install.. which isn't likely, the hotfixes, or Vlite just doesn't always work right.I made ~15 dvd-r's into Frisbees. No offense to the author;I don't think its anything I'm doing, to me it seems like vlite only works like 5% of the time... As far as i can tell, nothing i removed should have any impact on games, yet they all crash... This is the last one i compiled. THe one i am running on right now is only slightly different. THe services were set the same, the only 2 changes was the system information and the windows SAT.something i noticed, the last session generated here is duplicated. r0b0tc0rpse
gears of war and all hl2 based games error out in this loadoutwhat do i need to put back to get my games to work?some times the hot fix integration works some times it fails.I don't understand why games are crashing, none of these changes should have anything to do with it. Kraze
then mysteriously, it doesn't work... goes right back into its loop thing... I thought it was my service presets, so i left them all default. But thatThis is a known issue and Nuhi is working on it. Be patient its an RC version of vLite so its going to have a problem or two. I got the loop as well so what i did was loaded on my previous version of vLite, 1.2 Beta and all is fine. Its always a good thing to hold onto your previous "known" working vLite disks. Should i try the hot fix integration or not? Leaving the service presets default did not work either. it seemed like integrating some hot fixes and leaving out a few select ones did... but im not sure which those were because i didn't chose them, they failed and i did not take note of them... Kraze
Looping Restarts is a result of integration using vLite 1.2 RC, quote from NuhiThis may be in some combination with integrated hotfixes, already reported. Checking it these days. Until then you can try without integrating hotfixes if you can't wait.Just use 1.2 Beta -Extreme till a newer version of vLite is released.orUse vLite 1.2 RC with no integration and it might work, haven't tried it myself so i cant tell you if it will or not. Tomorrow
Question to topic starter:what games crash?.Are the games patched to the latest version?.Possible causes could be Parental Controld and/or Games Explorer.Atleast a few people have reported problems with those things removed. Now about the reboot loop issue:just keep the hotfixes you use.I mean why integrate hotfix for Windows Mail if you have it removed?.If youre not sure if you need this hotfix then keep it.Also integrate all hotfixes BEFORE removing anything.Rebuild and then open again to remove stuff.helped me cause i was buggeb by the reboot loop issu for a long time too.See if you integrate fewer hotfixes you also decrease the posiibility of the reboot loop to show its ugly face. Also word of caution!!!:do not install updates from windows update to vlited vista. You might find yourselt staring at blank screen at startup with no way to roll back latest updates and youll have to to clean install.
