Digital CD (SPDIF) input in Win9x

1. You need an PATA DVD or CD drive. no matter if writer or read only.

2. It MUST have SPDIF/Digital output pin, and it MUST be active. be careful. some newer drives have this pin but it is disabled (there is written "reserved" instead of "digital audio")

3 You need a soundcard with SPDIF input/digital audio

3. You need a sw player

After weeks of searching i found out that there is only one player able to work and it is Windows Media Player 9. Even Winamp version 5.2 failed n this...

Also.. the newest winamp causes invalid page fault in its installer. bunch a crap...

the sound works, but where can i found a better player?
