Perfect World and vLite

Hi Guys,

Perfect World is a MMORPG that is giving me some trouble with vLite. It simply doesn't work with my vLite configuration(Attachments).

I tried to use my config without removing all the Network, Services and System components separately but it still doesn't work.

With the vLited vista i got:

->Blank Announcement

xyzdl6.th.png

->Cant Login

xyz2go7.th.png

With a full vista all works:

->

xyzgz3.th.png

->

xyz2rj1.th.png

(Both vistas I tested are brand new format without any program)

With Vista (And my slow PC) its hard to test all configs.

Please help me

Ty

File and printer sharing (server) and probably Internet Explorer. A lot of those announcement type windows are just custom fronts for IE.

JoaoVr, for the text is the file C:\Windows\System32\C_936.NLS

you can extract it from full Vista with 7zip (sources\install.wim)

Let me know if that fixes anything.

It's some language, doesn't matter unless you really care I can check or you google it, BUT there is better solution.

In the Protect Files option (lower toolbar in the Components page) enter this:

Windows\System32\C_936.NLS

And vLite will keep that file next time.

In next version you can select Compatibility-Applications-Perfect World Client.

Thanks for reporting this.

Hey Nuhi how about a sticky post that has all these possible exceptions written down. I'm sure you've gathered a collection of information what files should be protected from removing and it would be great to have all this information in a sticky and it would also help anyone in finding info on compatibility problems quickly and people won't have to wait for a new version of Vlite to come out that anxiously. Oh yes and other people could bring their findings about compatibility to you.

P.S. since i'm already writing to you i have one more request. Will it be possible to remove windows anytime upgrade with the next version? And removing windows SAT and then turning on Aero automatically gives me Aero glass without needing to to go to properties and activate it

Keep up the good work cuz it is really good

What's wrong with the vLite Compatibility window?

Just hoover over the applications to see what's what.

Nothing is wrong with it. I just think a thread with that information would create a centralized point where users could get info why some software isn't working since a lot of users keep posting questions like "what did i remove?". Since Vlite currently has only 9 compatibilty options for 3rd party applications a thread where info is collected about possible exceptions would make information harvesting and search faster and easier and probably a few less threads with help requests due to removing certain components would be made on the forum
