abarax66
I'm curious as to any means of preventing OpenOffice.org from installing the outdated version of Java during its own installation. OpenOffice.org tries to install Java Runtime Environment 6 Update 4, and I've already got JRE 6 Update 10 on my system, so it simply installs it alongside it.Any ideas? abarax66
I've looked all over the OpenOffice.org website for that, but found nothing.
anonymous_user
Go to http://distribution.openoffice.org/mirrors/#mirrorsSelect a mirror and then you should see a directory. Go to Stable > 2.4.1 > and download "OOo_2.4.1_Win32Intel_install_en-US.exe".Pics:http://img27.picoodle.com/data/img27/3/8/2...22m_9de7cc2.pnghttp://img27.picoodle.com/data/img27/3/8/2...23m_c8252d3.pnghttp://img33.picoodle.com/data/img33/3/8/2...24m_5c8e687.png Edited August 22, 2008 by anonymous_user
Kurt_Aust
Go to the P2P downloads section, you can get a version without Java via torrent.Or you could extract your Java bundled download with 7-zip and just run the Open Office installer. Stacey Melissa
On this download page, there is a checkbox called "Include the Java JRE with this download". Uncheck it, then click the download link for your language and platform.
