sp3 wireless dependancies

Featured Replies

hi, was wondering if any of the new services in XP sp3 are required in order for wireless to function properly.

i've been trying to figure this out too. i lost wireless functionality in sp3. even i sp2, turning off some services and immediately turning them back on can screw up wireless functionality.

according to this post, you need the extensible authentication protocol service and network access protection agent. these have dependencies on their own, so make sure you read the descriptions in nlite.

i've also noticed that dcom server process launcher, com+, system event notification are required for the wireless network tray icon.

i've confirmed the above, you need to select the 'dhcp' protector compatability thing in nlite, and keep those two things

nuhi knows about this and said he'll add them to the protected list in the next version of nlite

for now, rebuild the disc and keep those two components, confirmed working here
