test531 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 hey thereI found quite a lot tutorials regarding this topic. used a lot of them, none of them wirked. finally I read that there is a problem with PE2USB regarding my 8GB stick, because it uses 2GB limited FAT 16 - Is there any workaround?maybe a 2g and 6gb "partition" on my flashdisk drive?
jaclaz Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) Right questions, wrong place to pose them. This is where you should look at:http://www.msfn.org/board/Install-XP-from-USB-f157.htmlThere is NO sense in having multiple partitions on a USB stick (normally seen as "Removable") as only the first active one will be accessible by a booted 2K/XP/2003, unless you are either:1) multibooting other Operating Systems that support partitioned devices fully2) using cfadisk.sys or dummydisk.sys filter driver3) successful in flipping the "removable bit":http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=21850You might want to try this (if you want to format "manually"):http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=21702And of course, if you had used USB Multiboot in the first place, everything should have been already OK. jaclaz Edited July 30, 2008 by jaclaz
