'system idle process' overload

in my xp 'system idle process' is overload, consuming most, even 99, of my CPU

which processes use this?

how do I reduce this?

System Idle Process should be using 99% of your CPU if nothing else is. It's the "process" that simply chews idle CPU time. The real indication of total CPU usage is the actual "CPU Usage" measurement at the bottom of the window.
