hapecat® Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Q: Does anyone know if the finished nLite image can be copied to a DVD+RW, so the DVD can be used again?Or, does it have to be burned to a write once DVD+R disk? Before you ask........Yes my ISO is too big to fit on a CD, because of the addons I use plus I don't remove any XP components.I've looked the forum over but can't find any reference to it.--hapecat®----
mooms Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 as long as your drive will read the data it's ok to use a rewritable media.
hapecat® Posted July 16, 2008 Author Posted July 16, 2008 as long as your drive will read the data it's ok to use a rewritable media.Thank you...Just didn't know if that would work or not. Having to use DVD+R's, will get pricy afte a while.--hapecat®----
johnhc Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 hapecat®,I have used a DVD+RW many times with no problems. Just erase it before writing a new ISO.Have fun, John.
Phoneywar Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Depending on burner software being used you may not even need a separate erase step. Nero doesn't although it does show a warning about the disc not be empty and asks if you want to continue.

Phoneywar Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 As I understand it DVD+RW doesn't need a separate erase cycle the way CD-RW does.
bledd Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 (edited) works fine i always use dvdrw's for nlite / vlitei tend to make the iso, then use imgburn to do the burning/erasing, the xlite inbuilt burner dll doesn't like all media..imgburn will prompt you to quick erase before it burns -takes about 30-60 seconds Edited July 17, 2008 by bledd
