JClishe Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I've created a stripped down Vista RTM image (only 240mb memory footprint after boot). However, I'm not seeing SP1 in Window Update and if I attempt to manually install it I receive the following error:"The application has failed to start because sqmapi.dll was not found."Does anyone know what component I'm missing?Jason

neo Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 "Microsoft does not recommend using any tool to strip out applications from Windows Vista prior to installing it on your system, as it may affect your ability to download future Windows updates and service packs, and may cause your system to become unstable"

cluberti Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Note that nuhi has many times over posted that if you use vLite to modify and strip anything from RTM, SP1 will not install (or will not install properly). The best (and maybe only) thing to do is back up your data, re-run vLite against your install source (using it to modify your Vista source and slipstream SP1) and reinstall.
