Situation:

A network with SBS2k3R2 as a DC, 20+ users, and a new network printer that needs to be installed.

Question:

What is the quickest way to "push" this new printer out to the 20+ clients without going to each client and adding via an IP port.

Thanks for your help!

I have been told by other peoples to add it to the server, and "push" it out that way. Can someone elaborate on this process?

Install the printer on the SBS server (add a new IP port there, etc), then go to the clients and add the network printer. You can "push" it via a logon script or group policy as necessary (you have R2, so you can do this via GP).

So on the client side I would go to add printer. Should it show up in the directory? Or am I adding it via a port again?

It'll show up in the directory if you make sure the "publish this printer in the directory" box is checked when you create the queue, and it is by default. Again, you can completely automate the client portion via a logon script or group policy too.
