Jaw3000 Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I've been playing around with using nLite to slipstream Windows XP SP3, and have a quick question regaurding user account creation. I'd like to use nLite to set some default information (such as windows key, timezone, & workgroup) while still having the option to change them during setup, so I selected the "Provide Defaults" option. This works, but it seems nLite has automatically created a new user (called New User). I would like to still set the user up during installation (I don't want nLite creating a user). Can this be accomplished with nLite? Also, after entering the product key into nLight, Windows setup no longer displays the dialog to enter the product key. Is there anyway to still have this dialog displayed with the default product key entered, while giving you the option to change it if necessary? Thanks for your assistance!
Ponch Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Check the User's pane in the Unattended section. Either remove that new user or set it as inactive. I think you must have missed it.Only in XP Home without OOBE you get a new user called "owner" or something. But in your case (you do use OOBE?) this should not happen. For your second question... I thought "Provide Default" would have done it.
