A Problem With My Cdrw :(

Guys suddenly i find this problem in my cd rw i think its appear after i give it to a friend to use it i tried it in more than one machine so its clearly a hardware problem but i like to know why and if there is any fix you know. well the problem is its take long time to detect it for first time its plug to the system its make its name a cd rom not cd rw even if the recording tab still there when im running a burning program its hang i could burn with it fine from creator classic with a succeful burning anyway its come and go any ideas ??
