Windows MCE: setupreg.hiv error

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi

I have notebook Dell with Windows MCE pre-loaded.

I tried to create an image using nLite.

When I use the image to install, there's an error setupreg.hiv cannot be loaded.

I tried not to select anything to de-select and use the full installation but still failed.

Can anyone help me ?

Thanks.

Here is the MD5 of my Windows XP setupreg.hiv

This is SP3

Maybe yours is corrupted? Maybe it's custom Dell and something's gone wrong otherwise.

Most likely it is custom modified version by dell to suit install of programs intended for the computer oem setup.

I'd stick with a clean, as in standard/default/original, xp source when slipstreaming servicepack and nliting too of course.

Seems there is a question every second day or so that would be prevented had people used clean windows as source, not some custom modified, slipstreamed of non-english sp2 and such.
