saphirex Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Question: I am new to slipstreaming with nLite (the latest version) and noticed that when I followed the steps to creating an ISO that was later burned to a bootable ISO using the final IT version exe of SP3 slipstreamed on an XP Pro System (XP Pro w/SP3 installed previously + post SP3 updates) using my OEM version CD of XP w/SP2 that at one point during the process it told me that my installation contained hotfixes and asked whether or not I wanted to remove them and I said NO!Was that the correct thing to do and not remove the hot fixes? Since the only hotfixes I was aware of might be post SP3 hotfixes that I got vis a vis MS UpdateAll I want for the ISO is just a basic SP3 slipstreamed using my OEM XP Pro w/SP2 OEM without any removals or additions to avoid any problems when I go to use it during my next fresh install.Did I do it right the first time as I described? Thanks for any assistanceSaphireX
neo Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Windows XP SP3 update package is cumlative and contains all previous updates...So I recommend to use fresh XP installation source to slipstream SP3.
