While trying to install Trend anti virus program I got the following error: "install.exe is not a valid win32 application."

Is there a specific item I should not remove while I am nliting my XP install to get this to work?

I'm on a small form factor compaq p 800, please help if you can, thanks!

The problem is that you are trying to install Trend anti virus, it's totally utterly 100% crap. You should delete, erase and nuke it off your harddrive.

Try Avast AV or Nod32, avast can be used free mostly, and nod32 is commercial, trials available.

Could be you are running 16bit installer and you have removed specific 16bit support needed for it to work, afaik it should work to remove 16bit support, it could be your specific installer requires it. But do yourself a favour and choose another AV.
