aztec Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 hi there i am trying to create an unattended xp cd out of my xp pro cd.i did copy all the contents of my xp cd to the desktop, started nlite, added my add ons, removed ( games-internet games, wallpaper, languages, music samples, old cd,tablet pc) only.i created my ISO, but when i tried in vmware i got this message:errorthe signature for windows xp professional set up is invalidthe error code is 800b0100no signature was present in the subjectfatal error set up failed to install the product catalogs.this is a fatal erro.the setup log filesshould contain more information.any help on how to fix this wull be greatly appreciated.
mmarable Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I would look at the addons you may be adding. I was getting the same error except I was using RVM Integrator and a faulty post-SP3 update pack was causing it. Once I took that update pack out everything worked fine. You're best bet would be to start slow. Just get the addons working first, and then start tweaking and removing things. Working in VMWare it's easy to set up a VM session snapshot staged to boot from your ISO image. After you run a test, just revert back to the snapshot. What addons are you using?

Take things in sections. Try these tests:Addons + New WallpaperAddons + New Wallpaper + New WinntbbuAddons + New Wallpaper + New Winntbbu + Remove 1 componentTry the first combo and see if it works. If it does, move on to the second combo and so on. Edited May 23, 2008 by mmarable
