lfotto
I am attempting to setup the Games SIMS for my daughter but it will only run with administrative permissions. I have set up a bogus user called Games with administrative permissions. I have set her up so she as to RUNAS that user to run the game. The user Games is displayed on the Welcome screen. I have searched various sites and found nothing on how I can hide that account. Does anyone know a procedure that will hide accounts from the Welcome Screen like the administrator account is? Thanks! !!HELP!!
babis
grab it from http://www.windows-help.net/WindowsXP/tune-10.htmlor if too lazy to check that site here is a summary:[b:54f7d3a81f]Hide User from welcome screen [/b:54f7d3a81f]01. Start the Registry Editor 02. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion Winlogon SpecialAccounts UserList 03. Right-click an empty space in the right pane and select New > DWORD Value 04. Name the new value exactly as the Username 05. Leave the Value data as 0 [b:54f7d3a81f]enable the above user again [/b:54f7d3a81f]If you want to enable this user again on the Welcome Screen, either double-click the Username value, and change the Value data to 0, or delete the Username Close the registry editor on a side note, you might just add an account with a password that only your daughter knows... and change it periodically...hope that helped..
