currently we have a DOMAIN1 as our domain, all of our PCs are joined in this domain, most of our Pcs are on XP, some were on win2003

now there is 1 laptop that needs to connect to our network and we are not to join it to our domain, this laptop has its own domain defined

so we plugged in the cable, it was assigned an IP address by our dhcp server.

now the problem is, we couldnt access shared folder from a pc in our network, all other pc we can access smoothly, only this pc. I have already flush and register dns the laptop

more info about the said pc named SERVER2:

it was previously a domain server in one of our sites, but we already joined it to our centralized server DOMAIN1

it is running win2003

we can ping the pc name as well as the IP of this pc on the laptop

now what we did was to join the laptop with our domain (removing the defined domain in the laptop), this way we were able to access the shared folder of SERVER2. But now we cant put back the previous domain on his laptop since we dont have priviledge to do that.

I just dont understand why the laptop could access the shared folder in SERVER2 when we are able to access other pc's shared folder.....

any suggestions? pls help me, thanks!

The admins of the other domain will have to re-authorize the laptop for that domain.
