ccl0 Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 i did a search and came up with a few results. from what i read the suggestion was to disable SFCbut is it possible to disable SFC, delete the folders, then re-enable SFC ? if so.. then i'm not sure how to do that... anyone got suggestions/advice ?
danker Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Empty folder are more disturbing than the SFC for you? crazy! ....thats my suggestions!
fdv Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Not sure where you got this advice, but switching Win File Protection off won't allow you to delete these folders. WFP doesn't maintain them. You'd get an error message and they won't be deletable with WFP off.

TVH Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Ill give an example:Say you use nlite to remove movie maker. If you leave SFC enabled, when you install windows, the movie maker folder will still exist, but it will be empty. However, if you disable SFC and use nlite to remove movie maker, when you install windows, there wont be any trace of movie maker left. That is all SFC does. Disabling it wont allow you to delete any folders you want. It simply prevents windows from reinstalling files that you had removed using nlite.
