No SP1 Update for Vista Ultimate

Running Ultimate on almost new Dell XPS720 and still haven't received the SP1 update via Windows Update. When I run update, it tells me my PC is up to date. Checking Computer/System, doesn't indicate SP1 has been installed. I have update set to alert me when updates are available. My memory may be off but vaguely recall seeing somewhere that update looks for certain files to be installed before update is possible.

Any suggestions?

that article lists 7 reasons why SP1 isnt offered.

we had a similar issue here on the forum that was related to cause 5

if its not any of those 7 and its just automatic updates being stupid (like it was on XP) you can of course grab the manual download from MS directly:

but if ii is one of those reasons on the list, i believe the installer might provide you with an error code that could give you some more information.

Looks like I'll be downloading SP1. None of the others apply.
