BradBo
Hi,I use a DSL line and I am trying to get my XP Fax program running. When I go to the setup under START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>COMMUNICATIONS>FAX>FAX CONCOLE it keeps asking me for the modem location.I have no modem. How do I get it to enable by recognizng my DSL connection. Also it won't see a printer. When I go to configure that it just stops and does nothing. Thanks
DSL Tech
Instead of choosing a modem does your FAX software allow you to choose a TCP/IP connection??...The same way one would use AOL over a DSL connection....Just a thought...:blueteam
BradBo
I did some more searching and found out that you cant do fax over a DSL line. You need a fax modem or a third party fax web site. Thanks for the reply.Brad
Conan
You can fax with a regular dialup modem.
BradBo
Do I then setup my computer with a dial up modem and the regular DSL line?
DSL Tech
Correct Brad....just setup a dialup modem and most important is make sure the dial up modem has a line filter on it or it wont work and you SHOULD be able to surf and send a fax at the same time....good Luck:D
