View Files/Folders options being reset

Featured Replies

Hi,

From the Tools -> Folder Options -> View menu, whenever I click "Show Hidden files and Folders", it is being reset to "Do not show Hidden files / folders" within 1 second :realmad:

Can anyone suggest me what could have gone wrong (or a trojan has entered my system)... How can I find this and rectify it. I installed Antivirus but it did not detect anything.

Do you mean the box re-checks itself and you see it doing that, or that you make the change but when you go to a folder you can't see any hidden files?

Are you using XP Pro or Home, and also are you on a domain or was the machine previously on a domain, or are you logging in locally?

I check the "Show Hidden files and Folders" checkbox, close the dialog and open the dialog again. I see that check box is already unchecked by now.

I run XP Proff Sp2 and my system runs at home (never in a domain) and yes, I have internet connection as well.
