cluberti Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 To those of us who have horrible audio problems under 2008 Server by default (crackling, skipping, hissing, etc) and it worked fine in Vista, consider making the following registry change:Key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\multimedia\SystemProfileValue: SystemResponsivenessType: REG_DWORDRadix: DecimalData: 20This makes Server 2008 behave more like Vista SP1 when scheduling CPU for audio/multimedia threads.
bassgoonist Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 do I need to use a qword if I'm running 64 bit? (dword is 32, qword is 64)
Mr Snrub Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Nope, it is a REG_DWORD value. It's already present, so this is an edit, not a creation.
bboy_sonik Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 It is a good tweak, and does indeed work. After restarting, I no longer had a tiny pause/pop when ALT+TAB between programs while playing WMA music. Cheers!
