Mobile Device Center and SP1 - BUG on KB950506

Hi all,

first of all thanks nuhi for this nice piece of software you're giving us.

This is my first post so I hope you all will be nice to me

I did integrate SP1 with my Business x64 RTM dvd, and then proceeded removing a few components, nothing heavy really, drivers I didnt use, no big functionality.. I do want a smaller installation but I dont want to overdo it, if you know what I mean.

No errors when integrating, nor when removing components, and not even when installing live.

My issue starts after I installed Outlook 2007 and tried, as I usually do, to sync my WinMo 6.0 phone to it.

Plug in, installs the drivers, recognises the device (even a nice HTC Touch jpg) and then... nothing..

It doesnt do nothing at all.

If I go in the control panel and run the Mobile Device Center manually, I only get the configuration page for the connection (where you specify USB/bluetooth..).

Has anyone come across this issue by any chance?

Any help is appreciated.

Keep up the great work you're doing!

Sorry forgot to say I used vLite 1.1.6B2, although I tried the same with 1.1.6B1 and had the same issue.

Also, vLited Vista X64 Business RTM was working fine .

Thanks all,

Can you please upload your last session file... its location "C:\Windows\Setup\Last Session.ini" you can paste that directly into the browse box when you locate your file to upload it and then click Open.

Hi again,

I just had some spare time and searched a bit better on the web for this issue.

It looks like it is a known SP1 bug, as per article :

Microsoft Support article : Mobile Device Center and Vista Sp1

The fix for this is to reinstall the Windows Mobile Device Center and the Windows Mobile Device Center Driver Update.

Links and instructions are provided in the article.

I guess this thread can be closed then..

Thanks anyways for the support,
