Norton Removal not working?

Recommended Posts

hi,

im new here.

sorry if wrong forum, but need some help with my norton removal.

I have Windows XP home, service pack 2 update and latest internet explorer on normal PC.

A symantec security alert screen continuously pops up saying my virus protection is out of date, your computer is at risk, open your norton product to resolve etc. I click ok and it pops striaght back up. Im using AVG/adaware/sybot instead.

I have tried Norton removal tool for2004, 2003 and the 2002 versions on the symantec website.

After downloading and trying to install, i have had 3 different msgs pop up when i try to open the removal tool.

1. invalid string resource (for some reason this does not come up anymore)

2.Only Part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed.(2002 removal tool)

3.zip file is damaged, truncated or has been changed since it was created. if you downloaded it, try again.(03/04/05 tool)

I have searched your forums, i went to thegeeks.us website as someone had said on your forums a couple of years ago, but that norton killer tool is gone.

Ive tried everythign i can think of but cant fix it. I probably need to provide more details, so let me know what they are and ill try to give them to you.

thanks in advance for any help
