2boro Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 I've had my pc for a while now, and have always had problems with connecting to wireless internet. First i thought it was the router, so i bought a new one, since that didn't work, i just got a new Dynex enhanced g desktop card. but still cannot connect. According to the software that came with the card (dynex WNU), it receives a very good signal strength, but will not connect to the 2wire router. on the back of the card, there is one (of two) LED turned on and it is color orange. i've been reading that people recomend to run an ipconfig so i did, but cannot understand what it means, so im posting it up, hopfully anyone can detect the problem (which im sure is very obvious and simple)so here it goes. windows ip confighost name ----------------------------:monoprimary dns suffix -------------------:mode type-----------------------------:boradcastip routing enabled -------------------: nowind proxy enabled--------------------:noEthernet adapter local area connection 2:Media State -------------------------: Media disconnecteddescription--------------------------:Nvidia nForce Networking controllerphysical Address---------------------: 00-13-d3-9d-7b-d1Etherned adapter Wireless Network Connection 7:Media State --------------------------:media disconnectedDescription---------------------------:Dynex enhanced G desktop cardPhysical address----------------------:00-1c-df-4d-82-63pleaaaase any advice is appreciated
tain Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 It won't connect at all, or connects intermittently? Are you sure that you are connecting to your own router and not some other router that might be configured to deny anonymous access? Did you enable any security features on the router?
